Attire

During periods when heavy construction is in progress, all workers are required to wear long pants, shirt sleeves, eye protection, a hard hat, and steel-toed shoes - sandals are not allowed. Signs at the entrance to the hall will identify whether it is under heavy construction. When you access the hall for brief periods of time in Controlled Access during an experimental run or for work in the hall that is not during periods of heavy construction, you are still required to wear a hard hat. Other personal protective equipment must be worn as required for the job you intend to do - for example eye protection, gloves, or other protective equipment should be worn as appropriate for tasks like electrical work or welding. A hard hat may be temporarily removed in situations where it creates larger hazards than it mitigates - for example, when working around the wire chambers in the detector hut. However, the hard hat must be worn as you travel through the hall to the hut. The wearing of long pants and steel-toed shoes is recommended.
