Pair Symmetric Background

Below are some plots for a two dimensional fit. The perpendicular results appear to have a stronger theta dependence.

Background asymmetry fit

Below are the asymmetry results from selecting events with a cherenkov double track hit (ADC > 2) only. These events come only from pairs produced in the tracker.

Other issues

If we trust the background correction above, then the low x data still could use improvements. Possible sources of low x problems could be

  1. Unknown low energy background
  2. Dilution not calculated correctly using unpolarized structure functions
I think that #2 is likely because F1F209 is not usable below x=0.35. This roughly corresponds to a cut at E'>1.3GeV. Also, this is why I used CTEQ for the unpolarized cross section when calculating the pairs background. In hindsight I should have just used the NMC fit.
