By selecting only the symmetric pi0 decays within 5 percent of the correct angle for E1=1100+-25 MeV, the second photon energy is plotted. It should be centered at 1100.
The lower energy events seemed to be doing better. Here is 900 MeV (ignore the colors):
Next I do a little bit more calibration of just the central region of bigcal.
This time I only use high energy clusters E>900 MeV (instead of 400 MeV).
Then selecting only the "cross cut" clusters.
I guess it is not unexpected but there is a refinement in the clustering that happens when the data is replayed with a new calibration.
So I am trying to improve the calibration by doing (calibration, replay, calibration, replay, etc...). This should converge.
There still seems to be room for improvement in the calibration at high energies.
The total Nachtmann moment
The statistical error bars are not right yet. I am still trying to figure out the best way to go about fixing them.
