HMS Dipole problems all shift.
Joe Beaufait called Mike Fowler and Paul Brindza for help.
They eventually exchanged one or two modules with the RS232 (?) interface
having been found to be dead.
After they left at about 21:30 we were not able go to full current: the
power supply trips between 220 and 250 A with the following items
lit on interlock page:
after I changed thresholds before change
forces: *** ???
quench detector left coil **. ..*
right ... ***
current lead **. ***
Paul Brindza guided me (Herbert Breuer) through the following changes
Quench 2 level from dial 1.10 to 1.50, later to 2.00
current 1 and 2 dial from 0.80 to 1.00 each
ramping voltage on power supply proper from 2.1V to 2.0 V to 1.9 V
(these readings not corrected for estimated +0.1 V parallax)
None of these changes gave us back the Dipole. Called Mike Fowler back
in.
