    keyword=Shift Summary

    Shift leader: A. Lung
    Worker: D. Marchand
    Analysis: J. Kuhn, A. Biselli
    Target: K. Grimm, J. Arvieux

    Shift starts with no beam.

    IA FeedBack ON.

8:15 35uA beam seems to be stable.

    Run 15658 : Asymmetry run - HWP IN - 35uA (20')

    Run 15659 : Asymmetry run - HWP IN - 35uA (short)

Beam not stable at 35 uAmps, frequent trips.
Ask MCC to set IA DAC to 5V.
    IA FeedBack OFF.

Run 15660 : Junk (we were running to perform IA Scan when the
beam went off. MCC has problem with an IOC : should take 5')

9:18 Start the IA Scan Run (5V)

    Run 15661 : IA Scan (5V) <=> Injector DAQ Run Number 8563

9:32 Start the IA Scan Run (9V)

    Run 15662 : IA Scan (9V) <=> Injector DAQ Run Number 8564

9:53 Start the IA Scan Run (1V)

    Run 15663 : IA Scan (1V) <=> Injector DAQ Run Number 8565

    10:04 Beam Development.

    Target OUT.

11:17 Fast Raster OFF, 2 uAmps pulsed
11:55 Fast Raster ON, 5 uAmps CW
12:15 Beam Restore begins. No work was done on injector phase
during development time, so stable higher current is unlikely.
12:50 Beam back at 30 uAmps, coil modulation studies begin
13:05 Beam off due to target alarm
    13:15 Beam back
13:25 Beam off due to target alarm
    13:40 Beam back
    14:25 DAQ crash
    14:45 DAQ trouble solved
15:50 Coil modulation done. Back to asymmetry runs

Run 15883 Asymmetry run, HV crates 34 and 36 just reset to
handle two tripped pmts. Also reset HV Snipper.
Note - coil modulation run immediately after start run.

End shift at 30uAmps. Even this low current is tripping
    frequently.

No work was done to tweak injector phase during development
    period....hence higher currents unlikely.

    Modulation Studies:

    Part 1:
    Energy Modulation:
The energy vernier on the South-Linac, Zone 20 will be
varied by +/- 1Mev. This change should be 'seen' at the
beam dispersion point in the arc: BPM12.

Hall C Fast position feed back is OFF
Energy Feedback is OFF (requires beam in Hall A arc anyway)
    Run:
15664: energy modulation with ~.268 sec dwell time
    15665: E.M. with 0.5 sec dwell time
    15666: E.M. with 1.0 sec dwell time.

    Part 2:
    Fast position feed back studies:
Does Hall C fast postion feed back interfere with position modulation?
This test will run through all position modulation coils, with
various dwell times. Repeat test with fast position feed back off/on.

    Fast Position Feedback studies:

Sequential Coil File: Hall C Fast Position Feed Back
    Dwell time OFF ON
    ------------------------------------------------------------------
    0.25sec Run: 15667 15672
    0.5sec 15668/15669 15676
    1.0sec 15670 15677
    2.0sec 15671 15678

    Part 3:
    Grid tests:
Grid combinations are tested with different dwell times and
Hall C fast position feed back off:

    Grid combination: Run
    Dwell time: 0.25sec 15679
    0.50sec 15680
    1.00sec Not done
    2.00sec. Not done

    Simple Grid test:
    Dwell time: .5sec Run 15681

    End Tests:
grid pattern set up for asymmetry runs: Dwell time = .5seconds

    run from gzerol3> /users/rutledge/auto-mod2 +g
