The DAQ triggers scaler events every two seconds. So a DAQ rate of 0.5Hz
is really a rate of zero. If a run starts immediately with that rate, as
was the case in logbook entry 185554, then a good suspect is the pedestal
trigger as no other events can come in until the pedestal events are
read. Restarting the pedestal triggers can be done by pulling out and it
the GG outbar as was done.
If rate drops to near zero during a run, it could be the triggers being
blocked somehow, or it could be that some part of DAQ has crashed. I
killall and restart of DAQ is a good first thing to try in that case.
