In the last two days I studied the behaviour of the HMS quads Q2 and Q3. From these data we will determine how to operate the magnets from now on, i. e. cycling procedures, handling of offsets, and so on. The results will soon be published on the Pion Formfactor Homepage.
One interesting result is that the power supply units of both quads still deliver a
small current when they are supposed to be on zero, and that polarity switches
change the residual fields by a few gauss.
