We are using two units, one being used for -5V and GND and the second configured to give GND and +5V. The PS(power supply) unit giving +5V sends a current of 1.60A, whereas the unit giving -5V has a current of 0.37A. The load of this PS (QWAD boards) have a very low output impedance (~3.2 ohm) whereas the 200 feet of cable (10 AWG) between the PS and the QWADs would have a resistance close to 3.2 ohm. In this situation the sense cable may not work since the sense cable connection requires the lead cable resistance to be "much" less than the load.

We are using two units, one being used for -5V and GND and the second unit configured to give GND and +5V. The PS(power supply) unit giving +5V sends typically a current of 1.56A, whereas the unit giving -5V has a typical current of 0.36A. The load of this PS (QWAD boards) have a very low output impedance (~3.2 ohm).

We are using 200 feet of cable of 12 AWG (resistance: 0.00187 ohm/foot) between the PS and the QWADs. Another 200 feet cable of 22 AWG (resistance: 0.0190 ohm/foot) is used for sensing the voltage at the load.


Present Setting
