RC Meeting Information

RC Daily Meetings are at 11:00 (am) via Zoom and in person in the counting house meeting room (2nd floor)

Useful Links

Current Status

  • Production on KinC_x60_2 and _2'.
    • 21.81 ABU in last 24 hours (Day+Swing+Owl)
  • Saturday 09 Dec: 07:00-09:00 Separator repair work. Beam restored to HallC ~ 09:30
  • Sunday 10 Dec: HMS Q3 & Dipole tripped at 11:19 (run 3510) Restored directed to set points (Run 3511, 3512) Ramped to MOL and back to set point at 14:00

Current Run Plan

  • Continue run plan: https://hallcweb.jlab.org/wiki/index.php/Short_Term_Run-Plan
    • cycle KinC_x60_2 then KinC_x60_2'
    • Only need four 1-hour production runs on LD2 for each cycle of each setting.
  • Suggestions for rest of week
    • Eliminate coin_sparse ps3=0 runs (we have enough data on electron efficiency)
    • Keep coin_sparse ps4=0 runs (DIS cross section)
    • Eliminate coin_sparse_low runs (we have enough data to study)
    • Reduce max current on LD2 at KinC_x60_2' (NPS 12.4 deg) to 15 uAmp

Notices in Effect for Shift Crew

  • All shifts should come in as planned.
  • Heidi on vacation 7-13 Dec. Contact Steve L for cryo during that time.
    • cc Heidi & Steve Lassiter on any cryo logbook entry (fansler@jlab.org, lassiter@jlab.org)
  • Physically verify green led of gas flow and BCM temps in electronics room
  • Record HMS (electron) tracking efficiency from each 50K replay report

Current Issues

  • On call list seems incomplete and should be addressed by the Hall: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4230495
  • We need other indications of this interlock. In Hall A, we have it shut off detector HV via the alarm handler, and we have a flow rate alarm. Seems the useful PV values have not been working since 1-Sept.
  • Need alarm on NPS Sweep (or improved visual display of status).
  • NPS PMT/Base failures are propagating into columns 12, 13
  • Reduce LD2 current at KinC_x60_2' to 15 uA

Planned Access to the Hall

Planned Accelerator Configuration Changes

  • We will run until 07:00 Dec 15.
    • Target will be warmed up and parked.
    • Hall will remain in Controlled Access until 07:00 Dec 19
    • Beam studies (Day Shift) Dec 19 will send beam into hall
    • Hall will return to Controlled Access at 16:00 on Dec 19

Special Requests

  • BCM Calibration today
  • Moller Dec 13
  • Ohio University has delivered 88 new bases, ready for installation (with LV regulators)
