1. Validation of single arm MC for the SHMS:
+
Participants: Mark, Howard, Peter, John, Dave and Dipangkar
It was felt that the existing single arm MC models of the SHMS neesd to be revalidated because there are discrepancies in the

angle acceptance between various existing models.  The validation will occur over the next two months with the goal of having

a stable validated model by the Aug. Hall-C meeting. The following steps will be taken:

Mark will compare Dave Gaskell's COSY model agianst the Snake model
+
1. Work on validating the apertures of the dipole is in progress, Mark was able to get the latest drawings
Both models will be rationalized with the latest aperture numbers and other magnet parameters from Paul Brindza
+
and things have changed some from earlier. Some confusion about the definition of effective length and optical entrance and exit was cleared up. The effective length is defined by the magnetic field turn on/off boundary. The dipole apertures are somewhat complicated by the transition pieces at the entrance and needs to be calculated with care. We should have this done in the next few days.
Dave will summarize the results of his model in a few slides, to be circulated to the group.

Tanja will summarize the results of her earlier work in a few slides, to be circulated to the group.

A wiki link will be created on the Hall-C wiki to organize all the validation work

Once validated the code will be put in a CVS repository

All work should be stored in the existing SHMS group disk space so that it is accessible to all in the group.

2. Dave is updating the COSY model to take into account the new info from Mark.

Minutes of SHMS MC working group meeting 06/08/2011

Participants: Mark, Howard, Peter, John, Dave and Dipangkar

1. Work on validating the apertures of the dipole is in progress, Mark was able to get the latest drawings and things have changed some from earlier.

2. Dave is updating the COSY model to take into account the new info from Mark.

3. Howard mentioned that he has a few updates on the detector position table and he will send the new updated version soon.
