  • Conditions: SHMS only.
beam current (uA): 50 uA
fast raster: 2x2mm
targets 10 cm LH2, 10 cm LD2 10 cm Dummy, C, 10B4C, 11B4C
trigger ELREAL
SHMS collimator: COLLIMATOR
SHMS trigger: ELREAL for physics data taking
SHMS angle/momentum: 13.11 deg / -8.5 GeV/c

Goal is to obtain ~5000 electrons in the range 1.5<x<1.9 for each production target.

  • Take ~1-2 hours of LH2 data to verify the position of the elastic peak at x=1. If not at x=1, correct count estimates to account for this.
  • Take 1 hour of dummy data at 40 uA - determine yield (electrons/mC) for 1.5<x<1.9
  • Take LD2 data at 50 uA. After ~ 1 hour, estimate relative contribution of cell walls (~1/4 dummy thickness). Use this to estimate number of LD2 electrons needed. Should need about 4-5 hours.
  • Take data on C,10B4C, 11BC at 50 uA. Each target should take about 2.2 hours at 50 uA
