Instruction for RCs
- Half-wave plate change
- Follow the instructions in the link above whenever the HWP is changed flipped.
Past 24 hours
- Generally smooth running with some accelerator related downtime overnight (~1-2 hours).
- Thanks to a lot of hard work from multiple parties over the weekend, the scaler issue now seems to be understood.
RC Summary
Current Status
- Moeller measurement.
- Returning to running production on KinC_x50_4' after.
Near Future Plan
In the near term future:
- Keep running the current setting.
- On Wednesday, we will have ~8 hours or so to access the Hall during the maintenance downtime. Planned activities -
- Heidi wants to take a look at the SHMS door after the issue on Wednesday.
- Noisy block in Column 8, Row 22 - Take a look at if it still looks odd.
- Wait to see if amplifiers will survive before replacing more bases.
- Remove more bases - take another column out.
- One column takes ~1-2 hours (to remove).
- May have time to remove 2?
- Measure B field at location of bases?
- Gain vs x dependence.
- Does sweep magnet have to be off to get near the NPS?
- Any measurement has to be done with magnets on and before NPS moved to have any point.
- We will ask MCC for a restricted access ASAP on Wednesday.
- My suspicion is that this will be around 09:00/09:30 with access possible by 10:00.
- I will confirm with the PD our plans and get an estimate of when we can expect to get in the Hall before the meeting tomorrow.
Special Studies
- Following the mounting of the borated poly shielding last week, we've now had a chance to assess this a little.
- Paulo will present an update on the radiation simulations.
- Elastics on Thursday (09/11/23) or Friday (10/11/23) next week?
Standing Issues
- Implementing checks for charge asymmetry in alarm handler and online analysis: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4213566
Planned Accesses to the Hall Today
- None
Planned Accelerator Configuration Changes
- Pass change on the 13th of November (13/11/23).
Special Requests
- Stable beam and mercy from the DAQ gods to continue.
