Current Status

• Accelerator status:
  • Work yesterday seems to have paid off a bit
    • Up to 75uA late swing, but not stable
    • Ran at 50-60uA overnight. Relatively stable
  • More work being done today, goal is stable 50-60uA beam throughout the long weekend
    • Probably early afternoon before we're back in production

• Experiment status:
  • PionLT continues to make progress on run plan, though we are still behind schedule, unless Ops is able to deliver 80 uA at >50% efficiency
  • Data taking went fairly smoothly overnight
    • SHMS Dipole interlock at ~02:00 took us down for an hour or so - https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4009339
    • Some issues with on-call response tied to this, see current issues
  • Finally finished the Q2 = 3.85, W = 3.07, x = 0.31, High Epsilon, SHMS Left (11.91) LD2- setting at 09:30 this morning - https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4009489
  • Switching spectrometer polarity and rotating to the Q2=6.00, W=2.40, x=0.55, high ϵ SHMS left (LD2+) setting on page 33 of the run plan
    • Will resume this once beam is back, we had ~50% stats here already
      • Do we need/want another mode 10 run? Yes

Notices in Effect for Shift Crew

• Please pro-rate ABU for max current limit in run plan (uA) in beam time accounting. For example, if we receive 15 uA instead of the max_current_limit in the run plan, then the ABU should be: ABU_prorated = 15/(max current limit) * ABU
• Check the HMS/SHMS rates for when production starts, since for Heep coin. production SHMS saw higher rates. Make sure shift crew takes snapshot of scalers at every setting
• When analysing LD2 or Al dummy or LH2, please leave the target_mass_amu in the standard.kinematics as that of the proton, but when analysing the data with the pionLT script, specify the target used, as different targets will have different ranges in the cuts when integrating the missing mass peak. Refer to log entry: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4005387 These instructions are given in the pionLT run plan.
• Keep an eye on HMS DC chamber wire maps.
• Due to the lack of Hall A running, there's no need to park/unpark targets between settings.
