Current Status

  • Finished setting 3 of high Q2 electron data taking in the HMS (-3.09 GeV and 35 deg). Completed swing 1/24/2023
  • Helium-3 remains for setting 4 of high Q2 electron data taking in the HMS (-2.72 GeV and 35 deg).
Carbon took 10 hours beam on time, 24 actual.
Helium-4 took 11.5 hours beam on time, 17 actual.
Aluminum stand-in took 4.5 hours beam on time, 6 actual.
Helium-3 Est to take 27 hrs beam on time, <TBD> actual.
  • Target temperature spike for loop 1 AND loop 2:

Loop 2 had a spike during production running, will need cut out
    https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4117306
  • MCC currently re-steering the beam. Don't know how long this will take
  • Data taking moving forward (2.5 days Hopefully):
    1. Setting 4: 27 hours (when beam returns)
    2. Setting 5: 11 hours including increased time for He3
    3. Setting 6: 6 hours
    4. Setting 7: 4 hours
    5. Setting 8: 3 hours
    6. Setting 9: 3 hours
    7. Setting 10: 3 hours
  • Data quality checks of SHMS?

Current Run Plan

  • Resume data taking at the setting 2 of high Q2 electron data taking with 3He, Al dummy, and 12C targets.
  • 10 different HMS settings in total. Mostly with 3He, 4He, Al dummy, 12C, and 63Cu targets.

Notices in Effect for Shift Crew

Current Issues

  • Accelerator issues to provide high beam current to Hall A and C.
  • Lowering the Hall C current to reduce beam trips in a way the split between Hall A and C current is not in equitable way.
