Summary

Yesterday (02/28) was the Maintenance Day during the Day shift (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4258304) and during Swing accelerator did some beam studies (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4258458). The beam was restored to the Halls late Swing and we proceeded back to production. We took Dummy runs and then switched to LD2 for the night. Hall B performed the Moller measurements at the end of the Swing shift and then changed IHWP from OUT to IN, after which we ran the flipper script.

We are currently at KinC_x36_6 (NPS Calorimeter at 6.0 m) and going to stay at this kinematics for the next few days. Data taking was smooth overnight without major issues.

We will have an RC meeting today at 11 a.m.

Planned Access to the Hall

Julie wants to make an access to repair two NPS channels. The hall survey is scheduled for 1pm.

Accelerator

RF would like to do two things this afternoon to zone 1L24. Replace the HPA controller and a solenoid controller. Both jobs can occur at the same time. Estimate is ~2hrs, including recovering the energy but could be less. Currently the North Linac trip rate is 28 trips/shift. Recovering the two cavities should take it down to 18-16 trips/shift. The work is planned to start at ~1:30pm-2:00pm.

Current Run Plan

Current Issues

  • Hanjie was concerned that some NPS crates have relatively higher fan temperatures (~95F). We put box fans for those crates. We also asked Facilities if they can lower the AC set point from 68F to 65F (was done yesterday).

Future plans

  • Monday (03/04): Sweeper wings off (Walter).
  • Monday (03/04): Spectrometer rotations: To be done after taking the Wings off. HMS-SHMS separation needs to be certified in the hall (Steve L).
  • Moller measurement next week (?)
