RC Meeting Information

RC Daily Meetings are at 11:00 (am) via Zoom and in person in the counting house meeting room (2nd floor)

Useful Links

Hall status

  • NPS work completed and closed the hall around noon
  • Sweeper and corrector setting done
  • Luminosity/background scans
    • Rate screenshots collected in Hao’s day shift summary: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4255780
    • Found that the inner columns have high anode current
    • Final production settings: HV off for column 0 and 1, maximum currents 5uA for LH2 and 3uA for LD2
  • NPS crate #2 drops occasionally:
    • Ben updated the VTP driver: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4255601
    • Suggested that starting a new run would be sufficient, and no need to power cycle the crates
    • If the crate fails, take snapshots of ROC windows and make hclog entry, tag Ben
    • We are taking 30min runs for production instead of 1h

Items to discuss from Charles:

1) How to normalize data if BCM has a large systematic at low current?

  • BCM calibrations on Monday?
  • Perhaps take short runs with calo HV off and current ~20 uA to

normalize DIS singles. This would require equal time to restabilize Calo temps.

2) Could we run at higher pmt anode currents (e.g. factor of 2)?

  • I posted some info on R4125 life time to hclog

https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4255889

3) At present levels, or x2 higher, what is impact of background pileup on cluster energy resolution?

  • Could anyone do a quick analysis of pi0 mass resolution from the data

we are taking tonight?

  • I posted a suggestion for analyzing a possible elastic electron peak in

the calorimeter in random coincidence with the hTRIG4 events in HMS https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4255894

Accelerator status

  • Overall quiet shift overnight, got up to 5uA for LH2 and 3uA for LD2
  • Maintenance + Beam study next Wednesday

Current Run Plan

Notices in Effect for Shift Crew

Current Issues

  • NPS crate #2 drops occasionally
  • Production current limited to 3uA due to high anode current in NPS calo

Planned Access to the Hall

Special Requests

  • Guard house work from next Monday. Pay attention to the sign and follow the directions around there when coming to the accelerator site.
