Summary

HMS dipole and Q3 tripped this night around 3am and recovered within two hours (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4260467 and https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4260479). Other than that, we had a smooth running during the last 24 hours with good quality beam.

The Hall is in Controlled access right now as we prepare to change the NPS setup for the next setting, which is KinC_x25_4. The revised work plan for today is available here (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4259689). We will stay in KinC_x25_4 setting up until the pass change on March 11th. While we are down today, the accelerator will do some injector studies (as Hall B is also down due to the issues with their magnets).

Bob Michaels and Hanjie will do some scaler tests with the DAQ today during the downtime (see the comment to https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4259689).

For tomorrow (03/05), we plan a Moller measurement, while on Wednesday (03/06) MCC plans beam studies.

Planned Access to the Hall

• Today (03/04) the hall will go to Controlled access 7:30am-8:00am for the NPS setup change (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4259689).

• Bob Michaels and Hanjie would like to do some scaler tests with the DAQ during the downtime on Monday (see the comment to https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4259689).

• Julie wants to replace two faulty PMTs today during the access. Swapping those two pmts needs to be done while the calo is at 6 m and should take less than one hour. She also advises changing the FADC module that records block 1075 for a better one.

Accelerator

Accelerator will do some injector studies today while we are changing the setup and Hall B is down due to issues with their magnets.

Current Issues

• Hanjie was concerned that some NPS crates have relatively higher fan temperatures (~95F). We put box fans for those crates. We also asked Facilities if they can lower the AC set point from 68F to 65F (was done on Wed 02/28).
• On Saturday (03/01) during Swing the heater power for both the loops 1 and 2 dropped to zero and recovered in a few minutes (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4259365).

Future plans

• Monday (today): NPS setup change to KinC_x36_4 (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4259689).
• Tuesday (03/05): Moller measurement from 8:30am to around 2-3pm.
• Wednesday (03/06): Accelerator beam studies + Hall B Moller measurement (they will flip the HWP after the Moller).
• We will stay in KinC_x36_4 until the pass change on March 11th.
