Hall C Weekly Meeting - December 3, 2012

  • SOS doors are off and removed from hall
  • Getting ready to start cutting SOS shield house (may be as early next week, depends on contractor schedule)
  • Cleaning up floor from demolition of concrete pad - may be complete this week.
  • Pressure washing truck ramp.

• From Joe Beaufait
  • Blew nitrogen through one of the worst cables that run under hall floor. TDR indicated 60 feet of water in cable - after blowing nitrogen for 2 days, it looks great.
  • Let sit over the weekend to see if water would seep back in - still looks good.
  • Rest of the ~100 cables should be easily recoverable. Nitrogen dewar on order.
  • Counting House work has started. Electrical conduit in 2nd floor ceiling will cause complications. Estimated full completion of project by mid-May.

  • Bert is working on UVa SHMS cerenkov. Some recent design changes.
  • Paulo is finishing up Moller coils. Starting on Compton.
  • Dan working on stands for cryogenics.
  • Steve F. working on spectrometer vacuum. This will transition to Gary.
  • Gary has been working on shield house.
  • Steve L. working on superconducting cable issues.
  • Eric working on magnet FEA.
