- Brief summary of QWeak collaboration meeting.
- Mark Dalton reprised DNP presentation of 25% measurement of QWeak.
- Presentation from Wally Melnitchouk of updated calculations of gamma-Z box correction (constrained by preliminary Hall A PVDIS data).
- Lots of analysis talks.
- The 25% measurement will be published - perhaps Science (?) or PRL.
- Project spring 2014 for preliminary QWeak results from full statistics.
- 5th pass "replay" in progress.
- Next collaboration meeting in March or early April at JLab.
- Brief summary of QWeak collaboration meeting.
- From Walter Kellner
- Most of the concrete on the floor is broken up - small section remains. Rubble still on the floor.
- Need to find appropriate chemical that will bond to the dust so techs can sweep up floor without too much particulate debris flying around.
- Standards for allowable levels of particulate matter have changed throughout industry, and are being applied at JLab. More testing and planning is necessary when doing work that creates a lot of dust, etc.
- From Joe Beaufait
- Found that Compton power supply was disconnected, hence the strange test results last week. Re-connected, and everything looks ok on the power supply. So both "large" Danfysik power supplies appear to be ok (the small one was totally submerged in the flood - not salvageable).
- Work order for powerstrip change-out in hall was canceled - deemed not to be responsibility of FM. Regardless, we need help to get it done. Joe will follow up with Paul Powers.
- Tubing for nitrogen purge on cables under floor setup.
- Discussion of Counting House work (question from Brad S.): not much work seems to be going on, completion date of January seems unlikely.
- Comment from Walter that he put in work request to get control of hall exhaust fans via in-hall switches interlocked to roll-up door.
- From Steve Wood
- Went to Hall A DVCS collaboration meeting in France.
- There was a session on Hall C calorimeter facility.
- Proposed uses:
- pi0 detector (exclusive and semi-inclusive production)
- DVCS
- Wide angle Compton scattering
- Goal is to make it clear that such a device would be a facility for Hall C that can be used for multiple experiments.
- Joint Hall A & C Analysis Workshop, December 12, 2012
- Planning for January Hall C meeting starting. Soliciting talk suggestions. Meeting probably later half of January 2013.
