    • Testing SHMS cryo distribution line
    • Leak checking the big joints and stinger lines on the Anaconda
    • Salvaging water connectors from old Moller quads to be used on the new coils
    • Located SHMS parts: Magnet mounts in testlab, liquid cooled leads in test lab
  • Joe Beaufait
    • 8 contractors received walkthrough training
    • Got light bulbs for the HMS hut
    • The HV cables (G0 cable move) are on the wall
  • Brad Sawatzky
    • There is a new counting house switch in the cable shaft room
    • There is limited networking in the counting house. Our computers will be moved back to the CH by the end of the year.
  • Paul Brindza
  • SHMS Construction Contracts
    • Deck and Platform RFQ was reviewed by JLAB Plant Services. Conclusion is we added a short paragraph instructing the contractor to read the weld notes drawing and we will add a sign to the complete deck posting the live load limit.
  • SHMS Magnets
    • Dipole
      • Dipole prototype coil second layer spacers arrived last week Winding to restart tomorrow or Wednesday
      • Epoxy cure cycle fixed, using a more elaborate cycle 110 deg C for 2 hours and 125 Deg C for 16 hours
      • New compression test samples are being made
      • Testing at UBS lab on Thursday to validate epoxy cure
      • Further testing will be done in November to validate compressive strength and modulus of coil
      • Production conductor consolidator in operation
      • Production consolidating to start this week on an F reel
      • Production winding to begin nominally ~ Nov 15- Nov 20
    • Q23
      • Final Design Review summary sent form JLAB to SigmaPhi with revised punch list. Accepted by SigmaPhi. 50 % FDR value invoice expected.
    • HB
      • One coil is in the cryostat. Estimate another 1-2 weeks to complete.
    • Q1
      • Eval of coil end clamp to determine mod or make new decision
    • Fringe fields
      • HB mag analysis by MSU under review for apparent conflict with coil yoke relative position. MSU model has coils flush with yoke, JLAB has coils set in 2 cm.
