To do list in preparation for running

  • General
    • Hall lockup scheduled for Friday 3pm
    • Beam steer up to the hall on Monday day with SHMS magnets OFF (procedures from Jay are posted under daily run plan for Monday March 6)
    • Target cool down and SHMS magnets ON on Tuesday during beam studies - Dave M. and Mike confirmed that controlled access is enough
    • HMS magnets should be ON before Monday 8 am - need update from Jack
    • Issues with the he flow at the beam dump - Dave G. is following that story need update


  • SHMS - general
    • Remove plexiglass protection cover for SHMS HG - DONE


  • HMS - general
    • Remove plexiglass protection cover for HMS DC - DONE
    • Mag locks on the HMS hut door not wired right now - Joe/Chuck will work on it today IN PROGRESS
    • Andy tells me that the status lights for the HMS shutter are not working - Chuck is fixing it IN PROGRESS
    • HMS hut wall back in place to complete the hut - DONE
    • HMS aerogel out - DONE
    • HMS moved to 15 deg - DONE


  • Target
    • Target chamber alignment: DONE
    • The alignment will be re-check after the HMS is put at 15 deg - survey was happening at 2:43 pm; need update
    • Andy connected the downstream beam line back to the chamber and Dave M. started Hall C scattering chamber vacuum pumps
    • Dave Meekins goes in on Tuesday during day shift (beam studies) to cold? He in one of the loops; he needs controlled access only


  • SHMS - detectors
    • Brad started flowing argon in the NGC - high flow rate; he will switch to low flow rate tomorrow -> more than 99% pure Argon


  • HMS - detectors
    • The aerogel slider thingy is sticking out right now in the HMS hut (has not been pushed back in after the detector removal yesterday); Chuck will take care of that


  • Other
  • training session tomorrow at 2 pm in the Hall C counting house for all shift takers
  • target training session tomorrow at 1:30 pm with Greg for few
