keyword=HMS slop cutDave and I looked at the slop cut setting for the HMS calorimeter and found that it was set to 3 cm. The figure is that of the delta_x in the HMS calorimeter. The first histogram shows the delta_x of the lowest momentum pion in the HMS for our experiment and the second is of the highest momentum pion. The vertical lines show where the slop cuts would occur if the slop cut was set at 3 cm and 7.5 cm. We can see that the 3 cm setting would cut too many possibly good events. So we are setting the slop cut to 7.5 cm in order to prevent loosing good tracks.
