keyword=survey ditties part VI: coincidence blocking
Coincidence blocking as a function of the HMS and SOS S1 scintillator rates (kHz). Blue data points indicate pi+ production, red pi- production. We see a rather linear dependence.
The different slopes in the left plot, pi- production (red), correspond mainly to beam energies.
Fig. 2 is a closer look at the hS1 dependence. Left are all pi- runs, right all pi+ runs. The colours denote Q2 points (0.6 black, 0.75 blue, 1.0 red, 1.6 green), closed circles are the high epsilon runs, open circles low epsilon. In both pi+ and pi- runs, the high epsilon data lose more rapidly than the low epsilon data.
Beware: the coincidence blocking has not been taken into account in replay_3. Clearly, there is an epsilon dependence, which will influence the L/T separation. The effect may be more dramatic in the pi-/pi+ ratios, but they will also play a role for Fpi and gpiNN!
