keyword=BigCal pedestals and thresholds in the ENGINE:
Now that pedestal events are incorporated into the main DAQ, I've been
able to discover and fix the bugs in the pedestal event handling for
BigCal in the engine, which now works properly. The ENGINE writes the new
BigCal thresholds to 'peds/bigcal_thresholds.%d' (or whatever file is
pointed to by b_threshold_output_filename), where %d is the run number.
All (hardware) thresholds are equal to pedestal + 10 channels. Software
thresholds depend on the width of the pedestal in that channel but are no
smaller than 10 channels and no bigger than 20 channels in the default
configuration. You can check which parameters were actually used by
looking at the file 'peds/bigcal_pedestals.%d' (or the target of
b_pedestal_output_filename). To update the hardware thresholds, you need
to copy the ROC11 and ROC12 sections of bigcal_thresholds.%d into
gep07/coda25/thresholds/roc11(12)_thresholds.dat
