Current Status

• Completed Q2=3.85, W=2.62, high epsilon (pi-) setting around midnight last night.
• Started Q2=6, W=2.4 left on OWL shift. Rate was about 1700 pions/hour, suggesting 14-15 hours needed just for this SHMS angle. Followup: ended up with 2462 after diamond cuts.
• At 7:30, switched to SHMS center setting (Q2=6, W=2.4 pi-). Rate appears to be a little higher, 1857 pions for a 1 hour run (note: 584 pions after diamond cuts). But we are aiming for higher statistics at this setting, so full statistics will take about 16 hours (not including dummy). Followup: if we want 4k after diamond cuts, then we only need 7-8 hours.

Current Run Plan

• Keep taking data at this setting.
• Plans for swing and owl to be discussed at RC meeting.
• 4 pass runplan outline (assuming no downtime):
  • Tuesday morning: pass change
  • Tuesday/Wednesday? ARC energy measurement
  • Tuesday day/swing: Heep coin (9 hours)
  • Tuesday swing/owl: Q2=2.45 (8-9 hours) --> theta_shms <7 degrees
  • Wednesday day: SHMS to 5.5 degrees, continue Q2=2.45
  • Wednesday swing: start Q2=3.85 (32 hours)
  • Thursday day: maintenance day
  • Friday morning: finish Q2=3.85

Current Issues

• Coffee maker broken! Emergency instant coffee in Counting House.
• Shifts filled until August 14 - then we have OWL shifts available up to August 19. Lots of openings August 20++.

Planned Accesses to the Hall

• Maintenance day still scheduled for Thursday, so access may be possible during that time.
• Aerogel change - still need to finalize day, but it seems likely we won;t be ready for this before the weekend.

Planned Accelerator Configuration Changes

• Pass change on Tuesday.
• Pass change (4->3) next week. On nominal beam schedule was to take place Monday (Aug. 15). Told PD that this will likely need to be moved one day.
