Abstract:
I did a literature search to try to come up with a concentration limit for Helium in Hall C that would allow our tubes to function for the several decade lifetime of a detector. For quartz tubes, that limit is arguably only 2x natural background, or 10 ppm. This limit will also protect tubes with UV glass windows that will be used in the quartz hodoscope.
