Abstract:

The purpose of this experiment is to measure the Q2 dependence of the longitudinal and transverse cross sections for the exclusive p(e,e'pi+)n reaction above the resonance region at fixed values of x_B=0.31, 0.40, and 0.50 and -t. The Q2 dependence of the longitudinal cross section will provide a test of whether the data have, or are evolving towards the Q^{-6} scaling prediction for hard exclusive processes for Q2 < 10 GeV2.
