The 6.4 GeV Run Plan (52 hrs)

• Conditions:

beam current:	65 μA
fast raster:	2x2 mm2
target:	10cm LH2
HMS/SHMS collimator:	PION , COLLIMATOR
HMS/SHMS trigger:	Coincidence
HMS angle/momentum	Various
SHMS angle/momentum	Various

• Run Plan:
  • HMS is detecting electrons and SHMS is detecting protons.
  • Use HMS pion collimator and SHMS collimator.
  • Start with 30uA on lower 6% Carbon, after a 2 hr run, increase to 40 uA and after another 2 hr run move to the upper 6% Carbon and ask for 50 uA.
  • Keep track of good coincidence physics events (with tight PID cuts and coincidence time cut) such that we have 10000 events for LH2 and Carbon

  • HMS is detecting electrons and SHMS is detecting protons.
  • Use HMS pion collimator and SHMS collimator.

  • Cycle SHMS magnets since raising momentum
  • Keep track of good coincidence physics events (with tight PID cuts and coincidence time cut) such that we have 1000 events each for LH2 and Carbon and take two singles run 30 mins each at the beginning and end of the running on a particular target.
  • For the singles runs the prescale factor on SHMS should be adjusted as needed to get about equal rate in HMS and SHMS (ie equal rates for PS1 and PS4).
